ORDER NUMBER R96-06
ALASKA AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE PLAN
The Director of the Division of Insurance does hereby find as follows:
Background:
1. On March 31, 1995, the Director of Insurance issued a request
to expedite the modification of the Automobile Assigned Risk
Plan, hereinafter referred to as the plan. Pursuant to this
request, a new plan was formulated.
2. A plan was filed with the Division of Insurance (Alaska
Division of Insurance filing number 14824) on October 4, 1995,
and approved by the director on June 5, 1996, with an effective
date of July 1, 1996.
3. The filed and approved plan replaces, in its entirety, the
previously-approved plan that was included in Order R78-7 and
amended by R79-2.
The Director hereby orders:
A. Orders R78-7 and R79-2 are revoked to allow the approved
plan to replace the previous plan and become effective.
B. AIPSO, all licensed casualty producers, and all insurers
authorized to do casualty business in Alaska are ordered to
act in accordance with the Automobile Insurance Plan as effective
July 1, 1996.
C. All amendments to the plan must have the final approval
of the Director of Insurance. The Director of Insurance may,
upon his/her own initiative and authority, amend the plan. AIPSO,
all licensed casualty producers, and all insurers authorized
to do casualty business in Alaska are also ordered to act in
accordance with any amendments to the plan approved by the director.
This order takes effect July 1, 1996.
