Acquisition/Change of Control

Information regarding the Change of Control of a foreign insurer must be filed with the Division. The acquirer must submit to the Division a Preacquisition Notification 30 days prior to the effective date of the transaction. The format for the Form E filing can be found at Alaska Regulations 3 AAC 21.186. If the effects on the Alaska market of the transaction is such that the transaction is exempt under the standards of Alaska Statute 21.22.065(j), a letter can be sent in lieu of the Form E to the Division describing the transaction and explaining how the exemption is met.
